Abstract
The new species Bryconamericus agna sp. n. is described from one locality i n the stream Tabay (55 degrees 10 degrees W - 27 degrees 00' S), Parana bas in, Misiones. The 6-7 dentary teeth decreasing in size anteroposteriorly di fferentiate the species from other Bryconamericus species. Also, the new sp ecies has 19-22 branched anal-fin rays, prominent black humeral spot, wide lateral band, violet upper half of flanks and iridescent green the lower ha lf upon capture.
