The crystal structure of the complex NiL2 . 6H(2)O, where HL is di(chlorome
thyl)phosphinic acid O(OH)P(CH2Cl)(2), was studied by X-ray diffraction. Th
e structure is built of centrosymmetric octahedral [Ni(H2O)(6)](2+) complex
cations and L- anions, linked by an extended system of hydrogen bonds. The
Ni-O(w) bond lengths are 2.041-2.083 Angstrom. The structural formula of t
he compound is [Ni(H2O)(6)]L-2.
