Abstract
A catalytic amount of Yb(O ' Pr)(3) (5 mol%) was found to be an excellent a nd practical catalyst for the nitro-Mannich reaction of nitromethane with s ulfonylimines affording the corresponding adducts in 81-100% isolated yield s under extremely mild reaction conditions, (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
