Abstract
A short and efficient access to the naturally occurring amino acid galantin ic acid is reported using two highly diastereoselective reactions, namely a vinylogous Mukaiyama reaction and a 1,3-hydroxy directed Evans reduction. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
