Excess molar enthalpies, H-m(E), of binary mixtures containing (S)-(-)-limo
nene + alpha -pinene, + beta -pinene, or + p-cymene were determined using a
flow microcalorimeter in the range 288.15-313.15 K, and at atmospheric pre
ssure. The H-m(E) are always positive, not exceeding 114 J mol(-1), and cur
ves show a symmetrical trend. The temperature dependence of the calorimetri
c data is slight. Results were correlated to the Redlich-Kister polynomial
and the adjustable parameters were determined by the least-squares method.
Results were also interpreted by an extended modified cell model of Prigogi
