J. Morimoto et al., Formation of a Cr3C2/Ni-Cr alloy layer by an electron beam cladding methodand evaluation of the layer properties, VACUUM, 62(2-3), 2001, pp. 203-210
An electron beam cladding method utilizing an automatic powder feeder under
vacuum conditions was developed and the layer formation characteristics we
re investigated using Ni-based self-fluxing alloy (SFA) powder under variou
s electron beam conditions. The properties of cladding layers were examined
by the Vickers hardness test, a sand erosion test and a corrosion test. Ba
sed on the test results, a uniform Cr3C2/Ni-Cr alloy layer was successfully
formed on mild-steel plate. The layer displayed a high hardness of 791 HV
as well as high erosion and corrosion resistance. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science
