Abstract
Taxonomical investigations with Phytophthora isolates in Germany of the las t 14 years are presented in two different publications. The Phytophthora is olates originated from heavily damaged horticultural crops, including nurse ries, from trees in forests and in urban horticulture and from soil samples . Or they were isolated from plants with unusual disease symptoms. In part 2, those Phytophthora isolates of which characteristic morphologica l data differ from known species are presented. The morphological data are presented in detail and are discussed along with the data presented in the classification literature. Isolates could be identified as similar to P. ca mbivora, to P. cryptogeal/P drechsleri, to P. megasperma, to P. palmivora, to P porri or to P. primulae. Other isolates could only be categorized as b elonging to the group V or VI according to STAMPS et al. (1990) or only as belonging to the genus Phytophthora. Most of these isolates originated from soil samples.
