Abstract
The crystal structure of the second monoclinic P2(1)/c form of the beta -ca rboline-3-carboxylate, C13H10N2O2, has been determined. Very sall changes i n the packing scheme lead to a different unit cell; the role of weak C-H . . . O hydrogen bonds seems to be crucial.
