Parasagittal ependymoma resembling falcine meningioma

Presentation, diagnosis, and management of an unusual parasagittal ependymo ma, radiographically resembling a falcine meningioma, are described. Despit e its radiographic appearance, pathologic evaluation revealed classic featu res of an ependymoma. The radiographic and pathologic characteristics of th is unusual lesion are briefly examined, and the literature is reviewed. Alt hough extraaxial ependymomas are rare, they should be considered in the rad iographic differential diagnosis of dural-based lesions, especially for pat ients within the first 3 decades of life.
