Dilated cardiomyopathy is a rare and unrecognised complication of propionic acidosis. It usually progresses to chronic cardiac failure with a poor pro gnosis. The authors report three cases of cardiomyopathy due to this condition. One of the children underwent liver transplantation which cured the cardiac co mplication.
