Abstract
Extralimital reports of cougars (Puma concolor) at the northern limits of t heir range are rare. We documented at least 21 individual occurrences of co ugars from the Northwest Territories and the Wood Buffalo National Park are a between the years 1983 and 2000. Our evidence suggests that, at a minimum , transient cougars are regular visitors to northern Alberta and the Northw est Territories.
