Abstract
The reaction of (Bu3Al)-Al-t with ArB(OH)(2)(Ar = 2,6- diisopropylphenyl) l eads, via the intermediate [(Bu2Al)-Al-t(O)BAr(OH)](2) 1, to the crystallog raphically characterised boralumoxane Al((Bu2Al)-Al-t)((BuAl)-Al-t)(2)(O2BA r)(4) 3 which is able to activate Cp2ZrMe2 to effect catalytic ethene polym erisation.
