Abstract
In the H2O2-KSCN-CuSO4-NaOH reaction system, cupric ion plays an essential role for batch and CSTR oscillation, Since Cu2+ (Or Cu+) can be precipitate d as CuOH, CuSCN and Cu(OH)(2), its concentration has a complex influence o n the amplitude and initial high flowrate of oscillation, The pH drop resul ted from the oxidation of KSCN by hydrogen peroxide inhibited the oscillati on, The kinetic nature of oscillation should be the H2O2 decomposition cata lyzed by cupric and thiocyanate.
