Abstract
We have summarized the development of a new type of self-assembly technique in fabricating ultrathin films layer-by-layer self-sembly technique, conce ntrating on some aspects as: driving forces for film fabrication, layered a ssemblies of biomolecules, inorganic/organic heterostructures, layered asse mblies of small organic molecules, ultrathin films for chemically modified electrodes, chemical reaction between layers and layered architecture on no nplanar substrate.
