Abstract
Hematopoietic cell transplantation has progressed from the use of unpurifie d bone marrow cells or mobilized peripheral blood cells to the use of purif ied stem cells and progenitor cells. These kinds of transplants can be desi gned to provide not only hematopoietic rescue but also augmented innate and acquired immunity.
