Abstract
The systematics of the positive-parity states in Po194-208 are studied within the framework of the Particle-Core Model. The wavefunctions of the 2(1)(+) states have been extracted using the Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation. The increase in the collective motion comes from the increased proton-neutron interaction when both particles occupy h igh-j orbitals.
