Abstract
Percentage conidial germination and germ-tube length in the marine fun gus Zalerion maritimum decreased significantly as the concentration of oil spill dispersant (Corexit 9527, Enersperse 1583 and Slickgone LTS ) increased from 0-100/1000 ppm. Preliminary investigations using tran smission electron microscopy reveal new evidence of ultrastructural da mage in conidial cells caused by Corexit 9527.
