Abstract
An inoculation technique for Petrifilm aerobic count (AC) was studied, with 5 sectors (0.1 ml each) or 3 sectors (0.2 ml each) instead of conventional ly one sector (1 ml) per Petrifilm. This technique was compared to aerobic count on plate count agar in 56 samples of minced mat (0.2 ml inoculum r = 0.98, s(y,x) = 0.19; 0.1 ml inoculum: r = 0.974, s(y,x) = 0.21) and few typ e strains representative for the microflora of minced meat. This technique is not optimized yet, but may allow for a substantial reduction of reagents and costs.
