We describe a continuous differential equation model of the interaction dyn
amics of HIV-1 and CD4 and CD8 lymphocytes in the human body. We demonstrat
e several methods of stable control of the HIV-1 population using an extern
al feedback control term that is analogous to the introduction of a therape
utic drug regimen. We also show how the immune system components can be bol
stered against the virus through a feedback control approach.
