Yg. Vlasov et al., CATION SENSITIVITY OF AGI-SB2S3 GLASSES AND THEIR USE IN THE MULTISENSOR ANALYSIS OF LIQUID-MEDIA, Journal of analytical chemistry, 52(8), 1997, pp. 758-763
Electrode properties of chalcogenide glasses of composition xAgI-(1 -
x)Sb2S3, where x=0.3-0.6, were studied with the aim to develop a multi
sensor system for the direct potentiometric determination of heavy-met
al cations and inorganic anions in natural and waste waters. It has be
en found that these glasses are sensitive to hydrogen and heavy metal
(Cu, Pb, Cd, and Zn) ions; the higher the AgI concentration in the gla
ss, the higher its sensitivity to these ions. It has been shown that a
multisensor system constructed from an array of chalcogenide glass se
nsors can be used for determining heavy-metal cations and inorganic an
ions in aqueous solutions, including Zn2+ and SO42- ions, whose ion-se
lective sensors are absent in the array.
