Spectral interferences were studied using Q(I) values equal to the rat
io S (the slope of a calibration graph) between the partial sensitivit
y S-I(lambda(a)) Of an interfering line at the wavelength lambda(a) an
d the peak sensitivity S-A of the resonance line lambda(a). Automated
wavelength scanning and computer processing of scans were performed fo
r ten resonance lines of rare-earth cerium-group elements in spectra e
xcited in an argon flow of an are double-jet plasma generator. The con
tribution of spectral interferences to the values of real detection li
mits was estimated.
