Abstract
Mycobacterium tripler, a recently described slowly growing nontuberculous m ycobacterium, was isolated from a Finnish patient with pulmonary mycobacter iosis. The disease was successfully treated with antimycobacterial drugs. T he strain isolated, which was similar to the type strain hut differed sligh tly from the species description, was regarded as a variant of M. tripler s ensu stricto. According to present knowledge this variant of the species ha s never been isolated before.
