Abstract
dIn this paper. two different aspects of cerium spectroscopy are presented and discussed. Firstly, we show that the Gunnarsson-Schonhammer model gener ally used to describe spectroscopic results in the Ce-based system should b e modified in order to take into account the configuration dependence of th e hybridization strength. Secondly, we present a photoemission study of Ce overlayers on monocrystals. These systems allow a careful investigation of the spectral contribution of bulk and surface atoms.
