Abstract
Sigmoid volvulus is an exceptionally rare cause of intestinal obstruction i n neonates. Only 7 cases have been reported in the English and French liter ature. The authors report a recent case of sigmoid volvulus in a neonate se condary to anal stenosis and review the diagnosis and management of this se rious condition. The authors believe that carefully performed radiologic re duction is the preferable alternative to surgical intervention. Copyright ( C) 2001 by W.B. Saunders Company.
