Abstract
Abdominoscrotal hydrocele is a very rare anomaly. Although various theories about this condition have been proposed, controversy still continues on th e etiology of this lesion. The authors present two consecutive cases of abd ominoscrotal hydrocele in infancy. On their first examination, these patien ts only had inguinoscrotal hydroceles. After a 2-month period of observatio n, these inguinoscrotal hydroceles developed into abdominoscrotal hydrocele s. These findings also were confirmed by ultrasonography. The authors quest ion the currently proposed theories of abdominoscrotal hydrocele developmen t. Copyright (C) 2001 by W.B. Saunders Company.
