F. Marchetti, Zinc and cadmium derivatives containing several 4-acyl-5-pyrazolonate donors and additional ancillary ligands, MAIN GR MET, 24(5), 2001, pp. 257-266
From interaction between 1,3-dimethyl-4-acetyl-pyrazol-5-one (HQ(1)), 1-phe
nyl-3-methyl-4-diphenylacetyl-pyrazol-5-one (HQ(2)) or 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-
trifluoroacetyl-pyrazol-5-one (HQ(3)) and M(O2CCH3)(2). 2H(2)O (M = Zn or C
d), in water or methanol, the derivatives [M(Q)(2)(H2O)(n)] 1-5 (1-3, M = Z
n, n = 1 or 2; 4-5, M = Cd, n = 2) have been obtained. They react with arom
atic N-2-donor ligands (1,10-phenanthroline = phen; 2,2 ' -bipiridyl = bipy
) in chloroform solution affording derivatives [M(Q)(2)(N-2-donor)] 6-17. W
hen the reaction between HQ and M(O2CCH3)(2). 2H(2)O has been carried out i
n the presence of aliphatic N-2-donor ligands as N,N,N ' ,N ' -tetramethyle
thylendiamine (= tmeda) or N,N,N ' -trimethyl-ethylendiamine (= trime), der
ivatives [M(Q)(2)(N-2-donor)] 18-25 have been synthesised. All complexes 1-
25 have been analytically and spectroscopically characterised both in the s
olid state and in solution.
