Abstract
Recent experiments have observed the Kondo effect in a variety of novel sys tems. These include single magnetic impurities on surfaces, quantum dots, c arbon nanotubes, and Buckyballs (C-60 molecules). Here, I review the spin-1 /2 Kondo effect, with an eye toward recognizing novel Kondo systems. (C) 20 01 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
