Abstract
We present non-equilibrium phenomena in ferromagnet/superconductor/ferromag net tunnel junctions. In the junctions, spin polarization induced by the sp in-polarized tunneling competes with the superconductivity. As a result, a variety of non-linear superconducting and magnetoresistive phenomena are ex pected. The superconducting critical current observed experimentally in fer romagnetic manganite/high-T-c superconductor tunnel junctions is analyzed. We also discuss the spin current backflow accompanied by the Josephson curr ent caused by the spin injection. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All lights reserved.
