Abstract
Samples of mesoporous aluminas have been obtained from synthesis gels conta ining non-ionic surfactants in the presence of dipropylamine. Surface area, pore size, d spacing and thermal stability of the aluminas have been found to change as a function of the chemical composition of the gel precursor. After calcination at 873 K, the ordered arrangement of pores is still prese rved, and surface areas higher than 300 m(2)g(-1) are obtained. The pore or dering is also observed after calcination at 973 K. (C) 2001 Elsevier Scien ce B.V. All rights reserved.
