NEUES JAHRBUCH FUR GEOLOGIE UND PALAONTOLOGIE-ABHANDLUNGEN
The paper describes small mammals represented by rodents: cf. Mus flynni, c
f. Parapelomys robertsi, Golunda kelleri, Golunda sp., Dilatomys pilgrimi n
. sp., Millardia sp. indet., Abudhabia cf. A. kabulense, Rhizomyides sivale
nsis and insectivores: Soricidae g. et sp. indet. from two microvertebrate-
bearing levels in the Upper Siwalik sequence of Jammu. The rodent fauna is
strikingly similar to that of Tatrot Formation exposed to the north and eas
t of Chandigarh (India). Based on this faunal correlation and the stratigra
phic range of Mus flynni, Golunda kelleri, Abudhabia cf. A. kabulense, and
Rhizomyides sivalensis and age of 2.5 m.y. has been favoured for the microm
ammal yielding levels.
