We consider the effect of the transitions n-->Delta (o) and p-->Delta (+) i
n deep inelastic scattering on polarized He-3 on the extraction of the neut
ron spin structure function g(1)(n)(x,Q(2)). Making the natural assumption
that these transitions are the dominant non-nucleonic contributions to the
renormalization of the axial vector coupling constant in the A = 3 system,
we find that the effect of Delta increases g(1)(n)(x,Q(2)) by 15-30% in the
range 0.2 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.6, where our con
siderations are applicable and the data for g(1)(n)(x,Q(2)) exist.
