Abstract
A new antimycotic steroidal saponin named SC-1 has been isolated from the l eaves of Solaum chrysotrichum by bioassay-guided fractionation. The structu re of SC-1 was characterized as 3-O-[beta -quinovopyranosyl(1 -->)-beta -gl ucopyranosyl(1 -->6)-beta -lucopyranosyl]chlorogenin on the basis of spectr al analyses and chemical evidence.
