Abstract
A narrow-band laser system is designed, which produces 10-ns pulses of tuna ble UV radiation with an average power of 3 W, pulse repetition rate of 12 kHz, and linewidth smaller than 45 MHz, The system uses a cw dye laser as a master oscillator. Its radiation is amplified by a three-stage dye system whose output signal is frequency doubled in a BBO crystal, The system is pu mped by a copper vapour laser.
