K. Kiernan et Se. Lauritzen, Dated speleothem evidence for uplift rates and terrace ages on the Tasmanian south coast, Z GEOMORPH, 45(2), 2001, pp. 159-176
Seaward-facing terraces along the south-western coastline of Tasmania are s
uggestive of late Cainozoic uplift. Dating of speleothems from two caves at
New River Lagoon on the south coast appears to constrain coastal uplift si
nce the Last Interglacial to less than 10 m and possibly less than 4 m. Cav
es and terraces at 70-80 m are unlikely to be less than 600 ka old and are
probably much older.
