Abstract
The self-starting dynamics of the Kerr-lens-mode-locking (KLM) in a Ti: sap phire laser using an intercavity broadband semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) was investigated experimentally. The mechanism of the self- starting KLM using a SESAM was investigated and discussed.
