SUPEROVULATION RESPONSE, EMBRYO RECOVERY, THEIR QUALITY AND RELATED PROGESTERONE PROFILE IN REPEAT BREEDING CROSSBRED CATTLE

Ovarian response, embryo recovery, their quality and related progester one in repeat breeding crossbred cattle superovulated with PMSG was st udied. The mean ovulation rate, average number of embryos/ova and tran sferable embryos recovered per donor did not differ significantly betw een the repeat breeding and normal control cows. However, number and p ercentage of unfertilized eggs in repeat breeding cows were higher tha n the normal cows. Plasma progesterone concentration on the day of gon adotrophin treatment, on the day of PGF(2) alpha injection, at estrus and on the day of flushing also did not differ significantly between r epeat breeding and normal control cows.
