RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE SYNTHESIS OF ANNONACEOUS ACETOGENINS

Synthetic routes to various bis-THF annonaceous acetogenins and protot ypes thereof are reviewed. These C-35-C-37 long-chain diethers exhibit a remarkable range of biological activities. The core unit, with six oxygenated stereogenic centers, provides a challenging target for asym metric synthesis.
