Abstract
Thermal burns from inadequate grounding the patient plates of an electrosur gical unit are reported in two dogs. The lesions were located on the latera l thorax. The burn in case 1 was full thickness while the burn in case 2 wa s partial thickness. The lesions were surgically debrided and closed primar ily. Proper function of the electrosurgical unit is mandatory in avoiding s uch accidental burns.
