The directed and elliptic hows in collisions of Sn-112 + Sn-112 at energies
from 35 to 90 MeV/nucleon are studied in an isospin-dependent quantum mole
cule dynamics model. With. increasing incident energy, the directed how ris
es from negative to positive. Its magnitude depends on the nuclear equation
of state (EOS). However, the elliptic flow decreases with increasing incid
ent energy and its magnitude is not very sensitive to EOS. Systematic studi
es of the impact parameter dependence and the cluster mass dependence are a
lso performed. The study of directed Bow at intermediate energies thus prov
ides a means of extracting the information on the nuclear equation of state
.
