A capillary electrophoresis method was developed for the separation of amin
opyridines and diaminopyridines. The influence of the buffer pH and type of
buffer was studied. Optimum separation conditions were 100 mM sodium aceta
te buffer, pH 5.15, and an applied voltage of 20 kV using a capillary of 50
cm effective length. In addition to use of the migration times the compoun
ds could be identified by their UV spectra when using a DAD detector The as
say was applied to the analysis of 3,4-diaminnopyridine.
