Sensory perineuritis presented as a mononeuritis multiplex associated withlivedo vasculitis

We report a 52-year-old patient affected by a mononeuritis multiplex and li vedo vasculitis. Sural nerve biopsy showed mild thickening of the perineuri um, vascular alterations with inflammatory cell infiltration in the perineu rium, and remarkable loss of large and small myelinated fibers. A therapeut ic trial of acetylsalicylic acid, danazol, and dipyridamole controlled the skin lesion without improvement of nerve conduction studies. (C) 2001 Elsev ier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
