Abstract
To evaluate progesterone receptor levels in precancerous cervix lesion s we measured cytosol progesterone receptors in 45 patients and 10 nor mal women. The average age at diagnosis was 35.4 years (17-67 years). Measurements were made using a dextran-coated charcoal technique invol ving a seven point Scratchard's plot analysis. 40 pre-menopausal and f ive post-menopausal women with dysplastic tissue were analysed. There were correlations between progesterone receptor levels, histopathologi cal category, grade and menopausal stage.
