Mechanisms responsible for the formation of misfit dislocation in lattice-m
ismatched system that involve gliding of the dislocation to the misfit inte
rface have been studied using Molecular Dynamics simulations of two-dimensi
onal Lennard-Jones system. Results show clearly how the strain due to the l
attice-mismatched interface acts as a driving force for dislocation migrati
on. Moreover, we observe dislocation reactions in which the gliding planes
of dislocations change such that they can migrate to the interface.
