Atomic-resolution neutron holography can be realised by two different schem
es. In the frame of the first approach a point-like source of slow neutrons
is produced inside the investigated crystal. Due to the extremely large va
lue of the incoherent-scattering cross-section of the proton, hydrogen atom
s imbedded in a metal single-crystal lattice may serve as point-like source
s when the sample is irradiated by a monochromatic beam of slow neutrons. T
he second approach utilizes the registration of the interference between th
e incident and scattered waves by means of a point-like detector inserted i
n the lattice of the crystal under investigation. In addition, neutron-indu
ced electron holography is considered. The feasibility of these ideas is di
scussed.
