Abstract
In 1939, more than 15 years after the birth of radio in Quebec and Canada, no regular column about radio existed in the print media, nor was there any publication dedicated to radio. Marcel Provost therefore decided to create a specialized weekly, Radiomonde. This publication, mainly dedicated to th e activities of radio, had an undeniable influence on Quebec culture. This article analyses the first 12 years of this weekly, from 1939 to 1951, when the magazine underwent a change of ownership, publisher, and objectives. T his publication, which has not yet been the subject of serious study, corre sponded to a modern notion of the print media in terms of format, themes, a nd editorial objectives, although it remained traditional in many aspects o f its content.
