Malignant tumours of both major and minor salivary glands are extremely rar
e: the parotid gland is most frequently affected by malignant change, follo
wed by the submandibular gland. Malignant tumours of minor salivary glands
may occur anywhere in the upper aerodigestive tract, but more common sites
are the upper lip, junction of hard and soft palate and paranasal sinuses.
