Abstract
A new dual reciprocity boundary integral technique for solving Stefan problems with temperature dependent material properties is tested in t his paper. Laplace equation fundamental solution weighting, basic orde r discretization of the fields on the boundary, Crank-Nicolson timeste pping with Voller-Swaminathan source linearization, and thin plate spl ines for calculating the domain integrals on dual reciprocity boundary -only basis are employed. Verification of the method follows the stand ards set for finite element methods.
