Vt. Gulyaev et al., Infrasound generation and propagation in the atmosphere during the operation of high-power seismic vibrators, IZV ATM O P, 37(3), 2001, pp. 281-289
This is an experimental study of the features of infrasound formation durin
g the operation of high-power seismic vibrators. The infrasound is shown to
be radiated into the atmosphere by a 150 m region adjacent to the seismic
vibrator. Annual monitoring of the vibrator-induced infrasound at a distanc
e of 50 km indicates that the times of arrival, amplitudes, and mode compos
ition of infrasound signals fall in a broad range and that the atmospheric
duct of these signals changes rapidly.
