Abstract
A phenomenological model was proposed for the spread of atmospheric vapor-g as-droplet plumes under buoyancy with allowance for plume-atmosphere heat a nd mass exchange and phase transitions within the plume. A numerical analys is revealed certain qualitative and quantitative relationships in the dynam ics of such plumes. Specifically, the plume temperature was found to decrea se more slowly after the water vapor in the plume begins to condense. The e ffects exerted on plume evolution by the atmospheric conditions (temperatur e, wind speed, and the degree of disturbance) and by the source parameters (temperature, moisture content, cross section, and mean density) were analy zed.
