Abstract
A facile method for the introduction of azide at the C-4 position of K DN2en and KDO2en is described. This is accomplished by BF3 . Et2O-cata lysed addition of azidotrimethylsilane to the peracetate methyl esters of KDN2en (10) and KDO2en (15/16).
